Cilantro Lime Baked Fish is actually the first recipe I ever shared when I started my food blogging journey! I shared it first because it’s healthy, tasty, and really easy to make. The combination of lime and cilantro on fish is delicious. These flavors do a great job of masking any strong fish flavor too. So, don’t be intimidated if you are not a big fish fan.
I love a baked recipe because I know almost everyone has an oven. The air fryer is great and I use it a lot but the oven is a kitchen OG. Cooking can be intimidating but for the most part the oven is a trusted and loyal tool that won’t let you down. I love sharing healthy recipes that are simple so even beginner cooks will feel confident in the kitchen. You got this!
Garlic and Lime on Fish
My dad told me the two things you need to make a delicious fish are garlic and lime and that’s how this Cilantro Lime Baked Fish was inspired! I am using Swai fish but I’ve also made this same recipe with Tilapia. Garlic and lime are a great base for any fish. I added some cilantro on top to help mask the strong fish flavor.
Swai is a freshwater fish and has a very mild taste which is perfect for anyone trying fish for the first time. This fish is usually a little bit bigger than tilapia as well. I get them from the frozen section at Walmart. They come in individual vacuum sealed bags so it’s easy to take out only what you need. Fish can defrost really fast too so if you forget to take something out for dinner Swai can defrost in less than an hour.
Fish for Weight Loss
Seafood and fish are also very weight loss friendly. I always encourage anyone on a weight loss journey to incorporate more fish into their diet. It’s an excellent source of protein and low in calories. Each filet is about 90 calories for 4 ounces.
Swai can leave you feeling full, satisfied, and energized without compromising your health goals. Seafood can also be a good detox for you. Eat fish for a week and see how great you feel after! That number on the scale might even go down as well.
Easy Sheet Pan Dinner
It is all about trial and error when it comes to cooking. To me this recipe is fool proof especially when I just add everything on top of a sheet pan. However, if you make it and it doesn’t come out quite right don’t be afraid to try it again with a few tweaks. That is how you learn. Also, don’t forget to line your baking sheet with foil for easy clean up.
This Cilantro Lime Baked Fish uses simple ingredients but that doesn’t mean it has a simple flavor. I always have bell peppers, garlic, onion, and cilantro in my fridge. This base is used for a lot of my recipes so every time I go to the store I pick some up. Adding colorful bell peppers to this recipe will help pack in some extra flavor and extra veggies. You can use any color bell pepper. Red, yellow, and orange are a little sweeter than green. Bell peppers also help make your plate look beautiful!
Quick and Easy Dinner
Whether you’re a beginner in the kitchen or someone with a packed schedule. This Cilantro Lime Baked Swai fish comes to your rescue as a time saving dinner option. It’s quick cooking time means you can have dinner on the table in no time. The Swai conveniently comes frozen already so you can keep some in your freezer at all times and take them out whenever you need a quick, easy, and healthy dinner.
