Easy Halloween Appetizer
I love easy recipes even when it come to holidays. These Mini Mummy Dogs are one of my favorites. You can also use hotdogs for this recipe but I just love Lit’l Smokies. I made these for a Halloween Party and they were all gone! I think because they are so cute.
You only really need 2 ingredients for these Mummy Dogs. It might be a little time consuming wrapping each weenie but they are worth it!
Ingredients for Mini Mummy Dogs
- 1 Package of Lit’l Smokies Cocktail Sausages (or hotdogs)
- 1-2 cans of Refrigerated Cresent Rolls
- Candy Eyeballs found mine at Walmart but they are available on Amazon too
- Cooking Spray
- Ketchup and Mustard for Dipping
Directions for Mummy Dogs
1. Preheat oven to 375 Fahrenheit.
2. Open Crescent roll package and roll it out flat on a cutting board. You might need to pinch together the perforations in the dough to make a large rectangle if yours isn’t a full sheet.
3. Use a knife, scissors, or pizza cutter to cut the dough into long thin strips.
4. Wrap 1-2 pieces around each weenie to make it look like a mummy. Make sure to leave enough space for the eyes.
5. Lay them on a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper about 1/2 inch apart. Lightly spray with cooking spray.
6. Bake for 13-15 minutes or until dough is golden brown.
7. Once you remove them from from the oven let them cool before adding the candy eyes. Use ketchup or mustard as the glue.
8. Serve warm and enjoy!
